Junior Tri Club Information

We’d love to welcome new young athletes to our Junior Tri Club! Our aim is to create a fun, supportive environment where juniors can develop their triathlon skills, build confidence, and make new friends.

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Weekly Training

  • Sundays – sessions include either a bike or run (weather dependent) and a swim at Rugeley Leisure Centre.
  • Swim time: 14:45 – 15:45
  • Swim requirement: Juniors joining the swim session must be able to swim 6×25m lengths without stopping and demonstrate front crawl with side breathing.

Communication & Booking

  • All session information and updates are shared through our Junior Facebook page.
  • Sessions are booked using the Team Stack app.

Age Groups

We welcome a mixed range of ages, typically 6–16, with some older junior members also involved. Sessions focus on fun, skill development, and building strong friendships.

Partnership with Freedom Leisure

We’re proud to partner with Freedom Leisure, delivering 12 inclusive junior events each year:

  • 6 indoor Aqua bike events (Stafford Leisure Centre)
  • 6 outdoor Duathlon events (Rowley Park)

These events are designed to be friendly, confidence‑building, and accessible to everyone, offering a park‑run‑style introduction to triathlon.

2026 West Midlands Junior Series Announcement

British Triathlon has officially announced the 2026 West Midlands Junior Series! 🎉

The series is open to athletes aged 9–16 (age on 31 December 2026).

This year, Stafford Triathlon is targeting three key events — plus a bonus full triathlon for those keen to try open water swimming! We’d love to see as many of our juniors as possible taking part. 💙
